anywayz wad we did was to go one round arnd e whole tekong island in 7 days... ok starting from e south west corner... BMTC, SALABIN, PERMATUNG (west), UNOM (north), OIL PALM (north east, east), RECLAIMED LAND (south east, south), SISPEC/BIC ground.... smth like tat lar... this info onli for ppl who wan to know how field camp is like lar... either u go by this sequence or u walk e opposite direction which is anti clockwise arnd e island lar...
1st day
nothing much marched 3km in full battle order(FBO) aka field pack SBO helmet weapon.... den march 2 rounds arnd e campsite... farking lame coz they wan us to march 8 click... tat's y 2 rounds arnd e campsite... pitched basha (smth like a tent)... have lectures on judging distance and a lot of military knowledge kind of thing...
2nd day
not much also considering i reported sick this day... wahahaha chao geng... no lar juz tat i need medicine to curb my coughing... stupid doc onli give me 1 day attend B... cannot give more =P.. learnt camo this day... quite fun lar... muz put grass covering e whole back... den section by section go into e vegetation and hide... whoever get found out do 20 lor... den e number of ppl not caught e whole platoon do tat number lor... my section e pro-est... all dint get uncovered haha... i missed out on e crawl lecture this day i think...
3rd day
early morning unpitch basha... farking crap lar... some of e section commanders are damn farked up lar... shall not say more i believe those inside alr know wad i mean lar... anywayz i was quite lucky me and 14 lucky fellows got selected for advance party... so we 15 man took tonner all e way to oil palm e nxt campsite... dun need to walk 11 km.. whahaha like not chao heng... but we need to do sai kang there lar... set up everything nice nice for e company to come in... den muz dig e shit holes for e toilet... zzzzz... but we got to shit 1st... hehehe den e rest of e day basically we learnt fire mvmt lor... how to advance as a group as a section all those... how not to run into ur buddy's line of fire and stuff... blanks are farked up... i prefer live rounds... at least they dun dirty ur rifle tat much... e time we spent cleaning arms is more than e time we spent training lor... moses suay lar... he lost his blank attachment in e vegetation... kenna extra guard duty...
P.S. advance party got 8 packs of fresh rations for breakfast... =P... we've been eating combat rations since day 1
4th day
technical break.. basically this whole day supposed to do nothing one... but den some "crab" muz come in lar... den kp abt our drainage... not deep enough not wide enough not visible.... cock lar my whole 7 day field camp e sky nvr even rain 1 drop of water lar.... zzzzzzz... anywayz we spent e whole morning digging until e instructor satisfied den we have tech break... woot it's like reallie break leh... do nothing sit outside basha tok cock... oh yah we got to bathe on this day... as in water bath not powder bath.... and we had to perform things in e shower lar... e better we perform (or rather lamer/funnier) we get more time to bathe lor... den e instructors juz sit there watching.... got fresh rations on this day... feels e same to me lar... e food is still semi bad
5th day
battle course... they make us walk arnd e campsite (supposedly 2 km) and along e way they will test us on our fire mvmt and stuff lor... farking thunderflashes are like dead wakers... they can wake up e dead one lor... den my sec com make my section do e artilery drill 3 times... tmd we run most of e 2km thanx to tat lor... coz u supposed to prone down until e artilery fire is lifted den get away from e location as fast as posibble mar... worse is one of e times we genna one "casualty" and he go choose e heaviest guy in my section... 7 ppl carry him also cmi... but aiyah say he farked up also cannot lar... he's those tat will kick everyone's ass but get e thing done e fastest one lor... not saying tat's bad lar... but sometimes u dun have to kick it so hard we will also move fast one wad... den tat evening we had route march again... 3km to reclaimed land... we saw mohawk coy marching by and we were like "wa route march so slack one arh"... haha our coy is siao one... hehe... oh ya we got to sleep under e stars this nite... as in literally under e stars... no overhead cover... coz our first 2 campsites are both in plantations (try to guess y train in plantations.. haha) den reclaimed land is like tropical grassland like tat... v few trees a lot of tall grass kind... so e nite sky is like totally uncovered.. and i can tell u i'll give everything to see tat kind of nite sky again lor... it's no words can describe lor... muz see it den u'll know e kind of feeling... it's juz tmd tmd tmd beautiful... in sg cannot see one... coz sg is (according to them) too bright...
6th day
digging day... basically juz dig shell scrape for 1 full day.. SAF req us to build within 45 mins lor... lol we took morning till nite... haha den at nite sleep inside shell scrape... shiok coz i dug mine deep... damn nice to sleep fresh rations on this day also lor... shiok.. but damn shagged aft tat lar... dig for 9 hours...
7th day
last day... woot all spirit high high march to BIC ground near SISPEC... this onli time we march in SBO and helmet rifle onli... no field pack... march quite long arh i think abt 7km... reach there alr damn tired alr still need to go crawl... nb i onli learnt how to leopard crawl on tat day from my friends... but i managed to finish it lar.. it's farking tough lar coz 1stly ur crawling on sand... den u onli use ur elbows and knees but keeping ur butt close to e ground... on normal ground still ok lar but on sand is like OUCH... i got abrasion on elbow thanx to BIC lor... den go back coy line clean up rifle field pack everything clean clean den can book out... but lucky lar we all were e 1st to book out tat day... although we booked out at 7:45pm... haha
anywayz field camp reallie taught me a lot of things lor... esp how to deal wif ppl lar... coz it's during field camp u reallie see who are e chiong ones... who are e smart ones... who are e lazy ones... who are e chao geng one... who are e damn enthu ones.... but i tell myself lar... who are we to judge them... e onli person we can judge is ourselves... whether u believe u have done enough or too little or too much... if u think u have reallie done ur best den good enough lar... but this kind of question muz reallie answer honestly... for me i think there are pts where i can do more actually but i dint lar... but overall still ok lor...
anywayz aft this break e nxt one wld be CNY le... 9 days in tekong for e nxt week... sianz... but at least field camp is over... OVER!!! =D
