Sports camp and Union Camp (warning: EXTRA LONG POST)

ok first u may be wondering why i dint update sports camp immediately... it's becuz i was simply too tired k... 6 days 5 nights... hiong sia...

kk sports camp 1st... although i think my memory of e camp is nt very clear of wad happened la... prolly wun be able to recollect as much as biz camp... basically 1st day right aft we check into MPSH 2 which is our gathering point and sleeping are at nite, was pool games... came as quite a shock... 1st day pool games alr, quite hiong sia... damn paiseh to take out shirt also... 我有自知之明的 ok... anyway they had pool station games and in particular at 2 stations they let u try out 1. scuba diving 2. surfboard... scuba diving was damn fun i tell u... breathing in pure oxygen was shiok and purely juz submerging urself underwater over a long time is juz woot... but e sad part was tat we swam (flippers and all... and wif flippers u can swim damn fast la...) to the halfway point, my air tank's dunno wad ring (i forgot... :D) came loose and air started come out from my tank itself... ya i dint even realise i wasn't taking in much air... so they hauled e tank off me and i had to swim e way back normally... SIANZ... e other one was surfboard but nt e type u see ppl use on tv for those surfing one... basically it's juz a long board where u can lie on and paddle using ur hands... e station was to race wif another og see who can finish e rounds faster... e other stations basically are juz normal games la... 1 was to dive under e water find a particular set of mahjong tiles... another one was 1 person jump into e water there wld be 2 ppl at e side wif mugs on stick trying to collect as much splash as possible... 3rd one was to paddle on float and use ur hands to paddle, keep balance and fight for a ball den throw it to ur teamate holding a pail at the poolside...

aft pool games.. i can't remember shit... think was martial arts display... or was it on e 2nd nite.. can't remember... i remember 1st nite we had our sp session... basically their sp session was that u get to talk to 4 different ppl... den at the end of e session pick who's ur 1st choice 2nd choice 3rd choice blah and they pair u up respectively... i heard from some they got their 4th choice... it's either the councillors sabo or they are reallie damn suay all pick e same person as 1st choice den e person pick him as 4th choice la... for me was a major cock up... coz my grp of guys gave our choices to e councillor... and e councillor disappeared... like totally disappeared... so we totally have no idea who we are paired wif... den somemore they ask us to write letter to our sp... writing to invisible friend was nvr more fun...

anyway 2nd day i think it was station games and introduction to the various sports grps in NUS... if i'm nt wrong we had floorball archery touch rugby handball canoe polo... we onli tried floorball and touch rug b4 it started raining... den they cut all others except floorball and archery so we got to try archery onli aft tat... archery felt so different even for an air rifler... hmmmz

3rd day was fun... Sentosa... we had station games lined up for the morning and afternoon... i fell sick that day, actually was e day b4... fever so i missed out an hour of the afternoon napping away trying to recover... basically we had the dodge ball game we had during biz camp, but this time there were like 10 balls lined up in e middle and e teams had to run to e balls to snatch and throw... total mayhem imo... biz one was more organised... den they had other stations where they made u dip ur head into flour/egg/dunno what other shit they throw inside mixed in water (i'm guessing sea water) and find stuff like grapes lime cherry tomatoes... den they also have joustling in e water where the guy carrys the girl on his shoulders and e girl is supposed to flip off the other team's girl's cap... we lost tat one and had to do forfeit... i tell u this station has the most outrageous forfeits... outrageous as in we had to go to e deep waters and take off our shorts and swing it in e air cowboy style... and later our underwear on our head for extra points... outrageous enough??? tat's sports camp for u...

after everything in e evening was something like a relay race... basically e 12 ogs are split into 4 houses, 3 og per house, so amongst ur house u are split up btwn 20 stations each station has a task u have to complete b4 the nxt station can proceed on... den e whole relay race is split btwn 2 grps... e 1st grp will do e 1st 10 stations while e 2nd grp starts building a SOLID sandcastle spelling out SC'07 den when e 1st grp finishes both grps will switch over and e 2nd grp will proceed wif their tasks... we dint exactly win e relay... quite messy at the end when everyone was running to the sandcastle area (the whole race took up a whole stretch of e beach) but i dare to say BAI LIAN JIAO HAD THE BEST SANDCASTLE UP OK!!! oh btw my og grp is called xiao bai and my house is bai lian jiao... e theme is secret societies ok... dun laugh... oh e other 2 ogs are called ah lian and lau jiao... super win names...

sentosa nite was fright nite... i think this was e time i worsen to catch a cold... basically we were all stuck in a holding area, air con and all and they played movies for us to watch while waiting la... i ended up being one of e last few couples as they selected randomly.. call it bad luck... anyway they were running out of time so they decided to let 2 couples go at one time... and guess who was e other couple... kian and his sp... damn win... oh ya we're paired up as our sp couples... to say it was scary... well nt very la... biz one was worse... but the setting did make e event look scary.. it was some abandoned bungalow in sentosa... i believe i've been there b4 during one of my pri school camps i think... coz i remember e waiting area at the end of the trail... i remember tat 2 rows of old housing... anywayz back to fright nite... ok la my sp was super afraid coz tat's her 1st fright nite la basically... they dun reallie aim e guys much... most of e boos and scares are aimed at the girls haha... including locking e girl up in one of e rooms... well in e end they made me sort of like go and rescue her la... lol my sp's scream was quite loud... i think her first one at the toilet even the holding area can hear her haha... and she was clinging on to either my arm or my bag most of the time... ok la quite the norm for girl alr... which made me quite impressed wif my biz fright nite sp leh... she onli screamed once la and it's like we were e 1st couple in... hmmmz...

4th day was amazing race... arnd singapore... went to quite interesting places... let me try to recall e 1st stop was raffles hall i think... play pool... NUS has a pool/snooker club... mite wan to join tat haha... den still got rock wall at some place can't remember where alr... i remember going to snow city nxt... we went in wif e jacket and shorts... LOL siao one... but den it wasn't reallie cold for e legs la... went to CDANS for air rifle... LOL... then nxt stop DHL balloon in bugis... 2 ppl in OG supposed to go up e balloon and e rest of e og are supposed to make out a number below to show to the 2 ppl...

our last chk point was east coast macs... YES!! finally east territory... we reached there at 10... 1130 marks the start of nite cycling... my 1st nite cycling ok although i think the rest all most prob tot i went for nite cycling a lot... well i juz like cycling la... dun ask me why... anyway we went from east coast all e way to e end and went north to kallang/geylang... eat tou huei... (we cheated on this station... we're supposed to go all e way to kallang mrt b4 going arnd back to the shop) den go to suntec k box... sing 2 songs... basically each teams have a map and a list of stations... the stations are all arnd city area but each team have a specific starting and ending station so basically the other stations u can go in any order... we had the touhuei one as our starting station (god bless it's e most out of reach one) and suntec is a must go b4 3am station coz k box closes at 3... so i muz say our grp is damn heng la... aft suntec we went supreme court.. down there take photo fill in some questions den went ROM... take photo again, this time is 1 guy and 1 girl pair up from ur og and take photo on e love seat/bench/wadeva... everyone from e og muz take... this was easy coz we paired up 1 guy wif 1 girl b4 everything... basically to look aft e girls la... see our guys so nice rite... den aft ROM we went clarke quay area where e stamford raffles statue is (god bless it aint e one in RI)... down there we had to recite to the station master the MALAY version of the words engraved on the statue... another stroke of luck... our OGL is a malaysian and knows malay... we did it in one try... although quite hard coz they made us sing the national anthem b4 reciting out the thing... oh ya in case ur wondering... we got 14 ppl so like each memorize abt 5 words like tat... ya e message was kinda long... after clarke quay was esplanade... charades, and i'm proud to say (again) that our OG got all the questions... :P the most tough one was "Alternating between wanting to shit and not wanting to shit" most of e grp dint get e word alternating... haha pro rite...

den after everything we cycled back to east coast park and slept at costa sands ball room (after wash up and everything)... reached abt 4 plus... by e time i slept was like 5... e girls all dint sleep e queue for bathing was so long by e time they came back e ballroom was packed so they sort of like sat outside at e sofa area until breakfast... quite jialat...

nxt morning was amazing race part 2... cable ski 1st stop, basically 6 ppl in e og get to try it... den each person is given a letter to shout to e rest of e og waiting at e other end of e lagoon... our 1st person slipped b4 he even moved out... damn funny but e other 5 made it to our section w/o problems la... nxt station was cineleisure... dirt bike... onli 2 ppl got to try it but basically it was quite fun... i think it's open to public also... SAF yacht club for banana boat... damn funny i sat e one tat cannot capsize easily one... so we had to capsize ourselves by all leaning to one side when e boat is making e sharp turn... took us 2 tries to make it happen but it was damn shiok... another funny thing was that the first person on the boat ended up rite at the back... i think she bumped thru all of us coz i remember colliding wif someone... after that was confidence jump from 5m at queenstown diving pool... almost same like jetty jump in OBS... but still i freaked out on the 1st try coz i wasn't reallie steping on the edge b4 i wanted to jump... bahx damn maluating... e 5th nite was clubbing... at NUS guild house... e place seriously sux... it's too narrow too long and juz too small... had a few drinks den i went back to rest liao...

last day of camp... mass game... basically they had a 4 way tug of war btwn e houses and a game of pushball... pushball is juz 1 huge beach ball den e teams are supposed to push e ball towards their house pass the boundary of the playing area to win... we were close but den lost out to another house at e end... i'll juz say our og bonded very late into the camp... bahx maybe becuz e activities were juz a bit too attention demanding...

union camp... hmmm to say union camp was boring was an understatement... esp after experience 2 fantastic camps before this... 1st day was easily passed thru station games spanning the whole of NUS... which was alr done in biz camp... i sort of taken note that our grp is mostly made up of laid back ppl... nt exactly e enthu type of ogs u'll see in sports camp, competitive and everything so we dint exactly rush thru e stations... heard e 1st grp made 14/15 stations... impressive since our grp onli managed like 7... oO e nite was skit... we had like 2 hrs to prepare for a skit which they dint state e time limit... BAD MOVE!!! everyone took their own sweet time to perform in e end... and most ppl stopped watching like halfway thru e 1st skit alr... and e whole thing lasted a grueling 3 hrs i think... aft tat was sp nite where we met up wif our sps for e 1st time... ok la although i heard our sp grp's guys are like (to quote) disgusting, horny, pervertic, wadeva negative adjectives...

2nd day was pool games which is nt exactly pool games... it's like 3 stations 1 which e guys are blindfolded and each has a balloon on his right arm... so it's like blind "step on the balloons" in the baby pool... another was like chain scissors paper stone kinda game... last one was pass the water thingy... of which 2/3 are on land (pool games ya?)... last mass game became another skit session... each og given an item to advertise... :S

well i think e onli thing memorable abt union camp was fright nite... they had 9 stations arnd NUS... rather big scale (union wad..) the stations aint particularly scary but very surprising... some may be wondering what i mean by that... by scary i meant frightening which means the literal scary... surprising i meant by sudden maybe unexpected appearances of objects or ppl... so basically they dun scare u but rather surprise u... i wld say i was quited surprised at certain parts esp the parts when u tot it's the end alr... haha my partner got scared until she cried on the 2nd station so tat station was cut halfway... nt tat i wld say it's a pity cuz wadeva happens, partner comes 1st... i dun mind missing half the thing to ensure she's fine la... although she admited she felt quite bad... so if ur reading this lishan... IT'S OK! :D

anyway i broke camp for 1 day e nxt day to go home grab cough medicine and some much needed rest... well i actually wrote my sp reply e nite b4 aft i came back from fright nite... but den u see i woke up at 7... tot e gathering time was 830... tot better and decided to slp a while more... and slpt all e way until 1230... great... thus i missed e chance to pass my sp reply to my og mates... anywayz 3rd day they had sentosa and mass dance... from wad i heard i dint miss much..

4th day was war games... station games actually wif a mass water bombing session at the end... onli the water bombing was enjoyable... i think it was steven that gave me one stinging one on the right side of e face and half a deaf ear... *ouch* we're all drenched la basically at e end... lol den wash up and it was off to Double O... sp were revealed on the bus trip there and it happened tat my sp went off from camp alr... ok la a bit disappointed but den on the brighter side, i was quite ok wif it coz i've been thru this sp thingy like twice... i rather it happen to me than some other ppl who haven played the sp game b4... anywayz i got chocolates from my sp... which i tried v hard to finish coz i dowan to hold e thing and walk arnd in double O... haha sore throat and all... pageant wasn't particularly exciting, was watching onli to cheer andie elijah and our grp's pageant mates jesper and candice on... elijah, ur alwayz pageant king in our hearts ok... although u dint win on this one (the judges eyes stuck stamp)

after that was clubbing until 2am... went off wif crusaders to makan 1st b4 going back... danced a while until 12am den they changed to house music... so in the end they decided to go to the bar downstairs which was still playing r&b... i gave up halfway coz i was both sick and a lil tipsy la... wanted to join back pirates but they were too far away and coming back from supper alr so i juz sat arnd... den got this guy nt v far away from where i sat who kept on scolding vulgarities and sobbing over the phone... complex place... definitely imo... prolly why i hate clubbing also... anywayz our og met up and we went back NUS... after wash up most of our OG gathered on the rooftop to "bitch"... it felt more like a tok cock session... actually imo tok cock sessions shld nt be too big... or else sure got ppl get left out... anyway a lot of ppl gathered then they decided to play truth or truth using 终极密码. nothing too exciting... by e time 4 plus onli like me jesper xingyan steven (yr 3 councillor who i dunno e name... damn sad) janice michelle and we played stock market, something like mrt game but wif food instead of mrt stations, indian poker... blah blah... all e way dint sleep...

anyway nxt morning was prize presentation, mass handshake session and it kinda sums up union camp... ok la union camp was like the most boring, chui, weird ppl met camp for me... i'm nt alone in this comment i guess haha...

anywayz stoning a bit now... time to bathe... had a nice long chat wif my union mates in e afternoon lol... piRAtes crusaders 小白兔!!!
